Global public health emergencies have emerged as one of the most significant challenges confronting the international community in the twenty-first century. The rapid spread of infectious diseases such as SARS, H1N1 Influenza, Ebola, Zika Virus Disease, and the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that health crises transcend national boundaries and require coordinated international legal responses. International law plays a crucial role in establishing legal obligations, facilitating cross-border cooperation, promoting information sharing, ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources, and strengthening global health governance. International organizations, particularly the World Health Organization (WHO), operate within a comprehensive legal framework guided by the International Health Regulations (2005), which require States to develop surveillance systems, report disease outbreaks promptly, and implement measures to prevent international disease transmission while minimizing unnecessary disruptions to international travel and trade. This paper critically examines the role of international law in addressing global public health emergencies through a comparative analysis of legal instruments, international institutions, treaty obligations, and state practices. It evaluates the effectiveness of the International Health Regulations, human rights law, international humanitarian law, trade law, and global health governance mechanisms in responding to health crises. The paper also explores contemporary legal challenges involving vaccine equity, intellectual property rights, emergency preparedness, misinformation, digital health technologies, and international cooperation. It concludes that strengthening international legal frameworks requires enhanced institutional coordination, equitable resource distribution, transparent information exchange, stronger compliance mechanisms, and greater solidarity among States to ensure effective preparedness and response to future public health emergencies while safeguarding human rights and promoting global health security.

The present study examines the influence of social media usage on psychological well-being, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships among adolescents and young adults. Social media has become an important part of daily life, offering opportunities for communication, self-expression, social connection, and information sharing. However, excessive or problematic use of social media may affect emotional health, body image, self-worth, sleep patterns, and social behaviour (Keles, McCrae, & Grealish, 2020). The study explores how frequency of use, online comparison, feedback-seeking, cyberbullying, and digital interaction patterns influence users’ mental well-being and self-esteem. It also analyses the role of social media in shaping interpersonal relationships, including friendship quality, family communication, peer interaction, and social support. Previous studies suggest that social media can provide belongingness and emotional support, but it may also increase anxiety, loneliness, and depressive symptoms when used excessively or negatively (Primack et al., 2017; Woods & Scott, 2016). The study highlights the need for balanced social media use, digital literacy, positive online behaviour, and supportive family and institutional environments to promote healthy psychological and social development among adolescents and young adults.

The present study examines the relationship between psychological well-being, workplace spirituality, and job satisfaction among professionals working in healthcare and educational sectors. Psychological well-being plays an important role in maintaining emotional balance, positive functioning, motivation, and professional efficiency. Workplace spirituality encourages meaningful work, ethical values, inner satisfaction, compassion, and a sense of belongingness in the organization. Job satisfaction reflects the degree to which employees feel content, valued, and motivated in their workplace. This study focuses on understanding how psychological well-being and workplace spirituality influence job satisfaction among doctors, nurses, teachers, lecturers, and other related professionals. A descriptive and analytical research design may be adopted for the study. Data may be collected through standardized questionnaires from selected healthcare and educational institutions. The findings of the study are expected to highlight that professionals with higher psychological well-being and stronger workplace spirituality experience better job satisfaction, improved commitment, reduced stress, and enhanced work performance. The study is significant because both healthcare and educational professionals work in highly responsible and emotionally demanding environments. Their mental well-being and workplace experiences directly affect service quality, patient care, teaching effectiveness, institutional productivity, and overall social development. Thus, the study may provide useful suggestions for improving employee well-being, strengthening positive workplace culture, and enhancing job satisfaction in healthcare and educational organizations.

The present study examines how daily habits and behavioural patterns influence the mental health and overall life satisfaction of elderly people. Lifestyle practices include physical activity, dietary habits, sleep patterns, social participation, recreational activities, spiritual practices, health check-ups, medication adherence, and management of chronic diseases. These practices play an important role in maintaining physical health, emotional stability, independence, and dignity in old age. The study focuses on the relationship between healthy lifestyle practices and psychological well-being among older adults. Psychological well-being includes emotional balance, self-esteem, life satisfaction, positive relationships, autonomy, purpose in life, and ability to cope with stress, loneliness, illness, and age-related changes. The study also examines how psychological well-being influences quality of life, which refers to the overall satisfaction of older adults with their physical health, mental condition, social relationships, financial security, family support, and living environment. Old age is a sensitive stage of life marked by retirement, reduced physical strength, chronic illnesses, social isolation, dependency, bereavement, and changing family roles. However, older adults who maintain active lifestyles, healthy food habits, regular exercise, meaningful relationships, and positive thinking may experience better well-being and improved quality of life. The study is significant because it highlights the need for health promotion, social support, community participation, geriatric care, and age-friendly environments for older adults. The findings may help families, healthcare professionals, counsellors, policymakers, and community organizations design programmes that promote healthy ageing, psychological well-being, and better quality of life among older adults.

Public health awareness campaigns play a crucial role in promoting disease prevention, encouraging healthy lifestyles, improving health literacy, and strengthening community participation in healthcare programmes. These campaigns utilize various communication channels, including mass media, social media, community outreach, educational programmes, mobile technologies, and healthcare professionals, to disseminate accurate health information and motivate individuals to adopt positive health behaviours. The present study examines the influence of public health awareness campaigns on health-seeking behaviour and community health outcomes. It explores how awareness initiatives improve knowledge regarding disease prevention, vaccination, maternal and child healthcare, nutrition, sanitation, hygiene, mental health, and early diagnosis of communicable and non-communicable diseases. The study further analyzes the role of public health campaigns in promoting timely healthcare utilization, reducing health inequalities, encouraging preventive health practices, and increasing community participation in national health programmes. Additionally, it identifies major challenges affecting the effectiveness of awareness campaigns, including misinformation, low health literacy, cultural beliefs, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, digital disparities, language barriers, and limited accessibility in rural and underserved regions. The study emphasizes the importance of culturally sensitive communication strategies, community engagement, digital health technologies, and multi-sectoral collaboration in strengthening public health interventions. It concludes that well-designed awareness campaigns significantly improve health-seeking behaviour, enhance healthcare utilization, reduce disease burden, and contribute to better community health outcomes. Continuous investment in health education, communication technologies, policy support, and community-based health promotion is therefore essential for achieving equitable healthcare access, improving population health, and supporting sustainable public health development in the modern era.

Healthy ageing has become a major global priority due to the rapid growth of the older adult population and increasing life expectancy. Beyond medical care, the quality of intergenerational relationships and family support systems significantly influences the physical, psychological, social, and emotional well-being of older adults. The present study examines the role of intergenerational relationships and family support systems in promoting healthy ageing and enhancing social well-being. It explores how positive interactions among grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren contribute to emotional security, social inclusion, knowledge sharing, mutual respect, and stronger family cohesion. The study also highlights the importance of family support in meeting the healthcare, financial, emotional, and caregiving needs of elderly individuals while reducing loneliness, depression, stress, and social isolation. Furthermore, it discusses contemporary challenges affecting family relationships, including urbanization, migration, changing family structures, digital lifestyles, work-related pressures, and declining intergenerational communication. The study emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts by families, communities, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and governments to strengthen intergenerational bonding through community engagement, family-oriented policies, social support programmes, digital inclusion, and active ageing initiatives. It concludes that strong family relationships and supportive social environments not only improve the health and quality of life of older adults but also promote mutual learning, cultural continuity, social harmony, and community resilience. Strengthening intergenerational relationships therefore represents an essential strategy for achieving healthy ageing, social well-being, and sustainable societal development.
